Nutritional essential fatty acids for anxiety and depression:  Not all fat are bad, in addition to carbohydrate and protein, you need some lipids for the growth of the brain and for improvement of  your neuronal well-being.

The brain belongs to organs with the highest level lipid concentration which make up the membranes. Lipid includes polar phospholipids, glycerophospholipids , cholesterol and sphingolipids. The brain glycerophospholipids consist of polyunsaturated fatty acids derived from the essential fatty acids, that is the linoleic acid and α-linolenic acid.

Scientific findings show that an imbalance in the ratio of the essential fatty acids which include the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and/or a deficiency in omega-3 fatty acids, may increase depression linked to low plasma cholesterol. Likewise, dietary omega-3 fatty acids prevent depression while a deficiency can accelerate cerebral ageing via inhibition of renewal of brain membranes.  Thus, not all fats are bad for you, you need for your brain and neuronal growth, don’t starve yourself of this nutrient only take the right one at the right  quantity.
